Slough ITE Partnership (University of Reading ITE Hub)

Slough ITE Partnership

Are you a graduate with a desire to make a difference in your community and to the lives of young people?  Are you an enthusiastic individual with strong self-management skills and a passion for your subject and the importance of education?  Then train with us for a stimulating and exciting career in teaching.

Who are we?

We are a teacher training partnership (based at TSH Berkshire, Langley) with a long heritage of providing top quality teacher training in partnership with the University of Reading.  We are proud to offer local people the opportunity to train to teach within their local community and to attract people from outside the Slough area, giving all the chance to teach Slough’s incredible young people.  During their postgraduate teacher training year, our trainees will benefit from placements in two of our schools.  All our schools lie within the Slough postcode area which offers excellent public transport links, comparably affordable housing and vibrant urban living with calm green spaces such as Herschel Park and Langley Country Park.

Why train with Slough ITE Partnership?

By training in our partnership you will have the opportunity to train to teach in an exciting variety of schools which celebrate the wonderful, multi-cultural aspect of Slough, nurture every aspect of our young people and provide strong academic rigour.  As well as this, our trainees will gain much of their professional training through the University of Reading’s Institute of Education.  We are delighted that in May 2024, OFSTED wrote a glowing post inspection report of the university’s Initial Teacher Education provision stating, ‘Trainees have made an excellent choice [to train here]’ and that they ‘benefit immensely from the strength of the purposeful relationships between the university and schools… Schools have a sense of belonging to something special’.

Apply to us if you have a particular school in mind in which you would like to do your teaching practice* or are keen to train within the Slough area.

*we will do our best to accommodate this but it may not always be possible.

What do we offer?

We offer Primary and Secondary Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) with Qualified teacher Status (QTS) or Primary QTS; and Secondary PGCE with QTS through our partnership with the University of Reading

Our Primary PGCE with QTS or QTS only and Secondary PGCE with QTS
